Babydoll Southdown sheep are typically docile in disposition. After several rounds of other breeds of sheep, we have settled on the Babydoll because they are such great grass mowers and weed eaters our Hood River Oregon vineyards. They are also pretty good browsers and will clean small bushes, blackberries, etc. They are small in stature and are easy to handle. Their small size and efficient metabolism requires less acreage per animal compared to other breeds of sheep. We work hard to ensure we are breeding animals that are easy keeping and have strong mothering instinct. The Babydoll Southdown is also known for its abundant carcass (relative to its size) and flavorful meat.
